Sub Zero 532 Controller Issue?

hi, i have a old Sub Zero 532 refrigerator/freezer at home. Recently it starts to have issues in the freezer part that sometimes the freezer door suddenly cannot be closed. So once it happens, the freezer will stop working. We get a service guy coming in one day – he said it is due the controller being bad. See attached photo (first) – right now when it happens, I can use a small screwdriver to twist on the back of the black box. (there is a hole in the middle) Then the freezer immediately start to work and after a few min, the freezer door can be close properly. (looks like inside the door edge, that part become heated and magnetic) I think maybe I can buy a replacement and fix this by myself. So I found the controller part number from the old manual, which is 3012670 and ordered one from ebay. Here is what I received. (second) it looks quite different from the original one though – can someone advice the possible issue here? Can I use the one I received to replace the old one? the refrigerator is so old and the one I get from ebay is actually the only thing I found online with that part number, but i did not realize it could looks very different from the original one. thanks!

690F Sub Zero ice maker not making enough ice – adjustment screw has no affect

I’ve replaced the ice maker on our sub zero several times in the past 15 years. Before the recent ice maker failure, we’d noticed that it didn’t seem to be as productive. It finally failed last week and I replaced it with a spare. I found that the new ice maker was only producing three cubes at a time. The water level adjustment screw didn’t seem to have any affect, so I purchased another ice maker and it has the same problem.

At this point, I used a jumper to manually start a harvest cycle with the ice maker partially removed, and captured the water in a container. It only had 42 cc’s instead of the normal 100-110. Note: The fill cycle lasted about 7 seconds.

I assume this fill problem has been going on for a while, and we’ve not noticed since the kids are now out of the house.

Any ideas on what “upstream” part or component might be causing the problem? Dual Water Valve?

Thanks,
Don

IRT184300 Inglis fridge fridge stopped cooling and freezer freezing

Hello. classic came home from a trip and the fridge freezer was not working.
It has power lights fans, i put a 3in1 in compressor works.
the top corner of the evaporator coil freezes for 5 seconds then melts.
If i hold the copper end with the small copper wire coming out of it on the upper corner
it warms up from the heat of my fingers then causes the 5 second freeze again.
every aprox 5 mins the coil will freeze again the melt.
It seems to me that there is a thermostat where i hold it or a timer issue.
any ideas.
Thanks

Galanz mini fridge compressor extremely hot but freezer part is cooling

Purchased it used. I replaced the overload relay. It turns on and runs. Freezer gets very cold and fridge is kind of cold. I let it run over night I did notice the compressor was very warm but not to hot. Ran all night. Fridge got a little colder but not like it should. Been running about 16 hrs now. Freezer still very cold. Well just had a storm roll thru power came off and on. I checked the fridge again and the compressor is very very hot. Burned my hand by touching it. Freezer still cold and fridge cool but not cold. Bad compressor? The compressor was cool for about 15min when I first plugged it in last night

Kenmore Coldspot 106.58726800 fridge not cooling

Hello,

I have a Kenmore Coldspot 106.58726800 that isn’t cooling. The fridge is a stainless steel side by side with ice maker. I received it for free from a guy that said the fridge wouldn’t cool after a power outage. I assumed the problem was most likely the starter relay. I have purchased a new starter relay and have had it in for 2 days now, but the fridge is still not cooling. I’m pretty sure the compressor is running. I have tried the screwdriver to compressor trick and heard it running. I’m not really sure where to go from here to get the fridge cooling again. I have tried cutting the compressor off by turning the thermostat all the way down for a little bit and moving it back up to cold. The compressor cut off and on but still didn’t cool. Any advice on where to go from here would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thermador ice maker doesn't dispense

10yo Thermador KBUDT4270A02. Over night, the ice make went nuts and filled up to the point where the container was popped out of the dispenser.

We had briefly used crushed ice the night before from its normal setting of cubes. Doesn’t seem to be any ice dams in the freezer otherwise.

I removed the dispenser chassis and it was frosted over on the non-active interior. Washed it clean and shut off the ice maker for the time being.

I discovered after the fact that the drip pan underneath overflowed as well.

Just emptied the overflow pan again. it was about 1/3 full in a day or so.
The ice dispenser motor turns as does the auger, by hand.
But when the door is closed to allow function (I would think), though empty of ice, the auger doesn’t move.

Not sure if I have 1 issue or more ……….?
